About Jo

Jo is an award-winning Australian business woman with a very unique skill-set developed over 25 years in business.

Her passion for innovation and technology led her to become a start-up entrepreneur, and disruptive thought leader, in the Self-Managed Super Fund industry in the early 2000’s. Her vision for a fully automated, real-time audit solution led to significant change in the industry.

In 2015, she realised every entrepreneur’s dream by achieving a highly-publicised sale of her business ENGAGE to Big 4 Firm Deloitte in a multi-million dollar deal that resulted in her “retiring” before the age of 40.

Her qualifications and memberships are extensive and include Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA), Fellow SMSF Adviser/Auditor (FSSA, FSSAud), Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), and Graduate Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).

She is currently completing further studies in finance and lending, working towards a Masters in Financial Planning.

Jo counts winning the Telstra Australian Young Business Woman of the Year award as one of her greatest life achievements. Following her business sale, she was also greatly honoured to be recognised as Australia’s inaugral Women in Finance “Woman of the Year”.

Jo is a loving Mum to her four beautiful children. In her spare time, Jo loves attending live music concerts, driving her 1964 EH Holden “Ellie”, and getting outside to enjoy the amazing Gold Coast weather. She has a love for travel and adventure, and counts bunjy jumping in Queenstown and seeing snow in Central Park NYC as some of her favourite memories.

Jo loved her experience as a volunteer for the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, and regularly raises money for charities through challenges such as Cancer Council Relay for Life, May50K for MS and K’s for R U OK Day.

Jo is a passionate motivational speaker, known for her ability to share raw and inspiring real-life stories of resilience and personal growth.

She continues to look for opportunities in the start-up world to use her passion for technology to re-imagine traditional industries.
